Deputy of the Minsk City Council T. Kalitina: “There is no need to fight for cleanliness.” We have to sweep

Belarusians have learned to appreciate what the state does for their decent life. This was stated to the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti” by the Director of “Minskreklama”, Deputy of the Minsk City Council Tatiana Kalitina, commenting on the results of a large-scale sociological study on the socio-economic development of Belarus.

- Against the background of what is happening outside our country, literally beyond the border, the impression of our security looks especially clear, Kalitina said.

According to her, the largest number of respondents called the Belarusian capital and Grodno region comfortable and cozy in the context of regional policy. The proportion of such people is about 80%.

- A living example, smiles the Deputy of the city Council. - I was yesterday (September 14). I took part in a civic initiative in my constituency. We opened a beautiful playground in the yard of the house on the street. Starinovsky, 2. This concept is known to many Minsk residents and has been embodied in living deeds. In our case, the residents of the house offered to make their yard as cozy as possible for their children. Today, the state proposes the following formula: in case of approval of a project of a particular civic initiative, 10% of its value is contributed by residents, the rest is supplemented from the budget. Is that bad? Someone has recently created workout areas in their yards, someone has achieved the opening of bicycle parking. The citizens of Minsk see and are clearly aware that their initiatives can not only be heard by the authorities, but also implemented. This is why people recognize their city as comfortable to live in.

T. Kalitina said that the residents of the house on Starinovskaya, 2, warmly thanked for attention to their proposal. In parallel, they showed what had already been done in the yard with their live participation.

- Of course, citizens will be proud of their yard and will not let anyone spoil it. They built a cozy alley in it, and a rose garden, and a flower garden with chrysanthemums, the interlocutor notes. People are happy to take part in the improvement of their hometown. And these are not just words.

The deputy of the Minsk City Council also admits that almost 100% of citizens who address complaints and proposals to it talk about problems from the housing sector. Recall that according to the results of a large-scale survey, which was in the center of attention of society and personally - the President, last week, the work of housing and communal services in Belarus was satisfied with 61.2%, and the arrangement of yards, playgrounds and streets - 62.7% of respondents.

- These are not the highest rates, – says T. Kalitina – At the same time, people have a lot of options to interact with this historically difficult area. This is 115.bel, and receptions at all levels and so on. It is no secret that the implementation of applications of citizens in Minsk is under strict control of the capital authorities.

At the same time, T. Kalitina notes that she categorically does not recognize human infantilism.

- Yes, often people need help with issues where they are not experts, she says. Sometimes you need to replace benches or provide comfortable ramps. But if we are talking about the walls in the entrance, which are most often soiled by the children of residents of a certain house? I don't see a problem. You can take some rags and wash them. As the classics of the genre Ilf and Petrov said a hundred years ago, “you do not need to fight for purity, you need to sweep.”.

This approach, according to the director of “Minskreklama”, is able to ensure constructive interaction between citizens and the housing and communal services sector. At the same time, T. Kalitina says that the unity of opinion of the poll participants regarding the fact that peace and harmony became the most important for them testifies, among other things, to the maturity of our civil society:

- Looking at how beautifully and qualitatively everything is being arranged in Belarus in general and Minsk in particular, I cannot help thinking about how much we have achieved over 30 years and how important it is that Belarusians have begun to understand this. I do not like to speak with slogans, but our Belarusian development model, which many did not believe in yesterday, including in Belarus itself, has proved its viability and yielded excellent results. You can't fool the numbers.
