MP Mironchik-Ivanova: sport increases trust between states

Tashkent hosts a meeting of the IPA CIS Standing Commission on Culture, Information, Tourism and Sport. Participation in the meeting of the Standing Commission in the videoconference mode was taken by the Deputy of the House of Representatives Anastasia Mironchik-Ivanova, writes sb.by.

The commission members were presented with the concept of amendments to the model law “On Archives and Archival Fund”. It is proposed to update the rules to take into account the dissemination of electronic documents and information stored in information systems and registries. In particular, the concept concerns the verification of the integrity of electronic archival materials, the preservation of the possibility of their reproduction when changing formats and the procedure for accessing them. The participants also considered the concept of the new version of the model law “On personal data”. Its developers propose to take into account the processing of data in digital platforms, mobile applications and artificial intelligence systems, as well as new risks of illegal transfer of personal information. At the meeting, approaches to changing the model law “On student sports” were also discussed. The materials proposed to clarify the role of student sports clubs and leagues, expand opportunities for participation of students with disabilities, reflect digital formats of competitions and harmonize approaches to medical and anti-doping support.

- Sport brings countries together. Our common task is to strengthen trust, update legislation and preserve common historical memory. In the present conditions, it is student sports that allows us to form a mutual knowledge of cultures and a solid foundation of friendship between our peoples. Considering the new version of the Law, we bring to the fore the safety and comprehensive protection of the rights of young people. This applies not only to anti-doping standards and medical support, but also to creating conditions where every student with disabilities can realize their potential. We establish norms aimed at preventing injuries, psychological support and the inadmissibility of political discrimination. Our primary goal is to educate a generation for whom fair sports wrestling, mutual respect will become an integral part of life, and interstate competitions – the most important event, said Deputy of the House of Representatives Anastasia Mironchik-Ivanova.

Members of the commission considered the development of a model law “On creative unions”. The parliamentarians were also presented with a proposal to develop recommendations on cooperation of the CIS states in emergency situations in the field of tourism. The initiative is based on the discussion held at the site of the strategic session of the Travel Hub project “Commonwealth”. The submitted materials state the need to coordinate the actions of countries in case of violation of transport communication and other circumstances requiring assistance to tourists, including those outside the CIS. It is proposed to develop common approaches to evacuation and financial protection of travelers in emergency cases. To this end, under the auspices of the IPA CIS, it is planned to form a working group with the participation of national tourism management bodies and industry professional associations, attracting experts from agencies responsible for safety and emergency response.

The participants of the meeting were also provided with information about the Twentieth Youth Delphic Games of the CIS countries, as well as a proposal to establish an international parliamentary chess tournament.
