MP recalls fine for 'bald' winter rubber
Deputy Grigoriev: for driving with worn winter tires faces a fine of 500 rubles.

With the onset of cold weather, drivers take out winter tire sets from garages. But not everyone thinks that old tires can become not only the cause of the accident, but also the reason for a fine. This was recalled by the Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on transport Yuri Grigoriev.
According to the MP, driving the so-called "bald" winter tires is prohibited. The critical boundary is the residual tread depth of 4 millimeters. If you are riding in snow or naledi, and the tread has worn more, the operation of the car automatically falls under the ban.
For such a violation under article 12.5 of the administrative code of the Russian Federation relies either verbal warning or a fine of 500 rubles. The amount, of course, is not cosmic, but the fact of violation is fixed.
Why is it so important? Grigoriev explains: the worn protector is banal does not cope with its tasks. He poorly diverts snow porridge and water, because of which the grip on the road drops sharply. The result is predictable – loss of control and accident.
The MP urges car owners not to save on safety. Before you drive in the winter season, be sure to measure the depth of the tread. If it is close to the critical mark, it is better to buy a new set, writes TASS.
