Animals continue to enter the reserve and damage protected ecosystems. We are talking about domestic reindeer, the presence of which in a specially protected natural area is unacceptable according to the requirements of environmental legislation. The animals themselves do not know about this, the responsibility for grazing and control lies with the owners.
On one of the cameras got a fight between males, on the other - individual individuals. Photo traps allow you to observe deer in the same way as for other inhabitants of the forest.
In August 2026, the director of Pasvika said that Norwegian deer cross the border across the Paz River – cross it on ice or swim across it. This time, the animals were noticed not only in the reserve, but also in the area between Nickel and Rayakoski, as well as near the Polar. About ten years ago, almost 400 reindeer crossed the Russian border.
Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” said that the reindeer lived for two days on an island in Kandalaksha Bay and sailed away.
