Deputies of the Supreme Council of the BSSR of the first convocation worked in extraordinary conditions. The rapid offensive of the enemy during the Great Patriotic War, the occupation of the territory by the troops of Nazi Germany and its allies, measures to evacuate hundreds of thousands of people - all this required from them not only political will, but also real steps to mobilize resources, organize assistance, preserve the unity of society and the state. Their decisions largely determined the future of the country. Director of the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War Rimma Rum drew attention to this in her report during parliamentary readings on the topic “Deputies of the Supreme Council of the BSSR of the first convocation during the Great Patriotic War”, which took place on October 19 in the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War, writes sb.by.

Director of the Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War drew attention to the fact that the topic of parliamentary readings affects the fate of not only deputies, but also the Soviet people as a whole
- The participants of the parliamentary readings have an important task - to comprehensively discuss historical sources, scientific research and public initiatives that highlight the contribution of deputies to the organization of the rear, assistance to the guerrilla movement, work with the evacuated population, the preservation of cultural heritage and economic recovery. History shows that in extraordinary circumstances, the coordinated work of state institutions can save a country and the lives of its citizens. Among the deputies of the first convocation were people of different professions and different ages - they were party statesmen, military men, teachers. During the Great Patriotic War, they defended their homeland, they went to the front, led the underground and partisan formations, worked in the Soviet rear.

Rimma Rum stressed that the collections of the museum and the permanent exhibition present materials and personal belongings of deputies of the Supreme Council of the BSSR of the first convocation. First of all, we are talking about Heroes of the Soviet Union - Tikhon Bumazhkov, Vladimir Tsaryuk, Fyodor Markov. The exposition, which is dedicated to the partisan movement, presents the Order of Suvorov of the first degree, which belonged to the head of the Belarusian headquarters of the partisan movement Peter Kalinin.

- Our funds store materials of the Hero of the Soviet Union, a participant in the Battle of Stalingrad, a participant in the liberation of Ukraine, Major General Nikolai Vasiliev. The funds also store personal belongings of the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the BSSR of the first convocation Nadezhda Grekova, who took an active part in the evacuation of the civilian population, and also contributed to the organization of work in the rear. The materials about the Belarusian legislators of that time, which are in the exposition and funds of the museum, help to see the history through the fate of specific people. Their photo portraits, personal belongings, documents, weapons and awards remind of the price of the Victory, about the personal contribution of those who defended the country in the most difficult years, organized resistance and brought Belarus closer to liberation. "There's something to be proud of." Sergeenko on the contribution of deputies of the Supreme Council of the BSSR of the first convocation to the Great Victory
