In the Murmansk region, people’s vigilantes who guard the state border are offered to establish a payment of 500 rubles per hour of work. This is stated in the draft resolution of the government of the region. All the vigilantes of the Murmansk region in 2025 received a total of 11 million rubles.

The money will be charged for participation in events lasting from two to eight hours a day and no more than 24 hours a week. Payment will be calculated on the time sheet. That is, one person can not get more than 12 thousand a week.

People's vigilantes involved in border protection are understood as adult citizens of Russia who voluntarily help the border authorities. They act on the recommendations approved by the order of the Federal Security Service.

The document may enter into force after signing.

In the Murmansk region there is already a system of material incentives for people’s vigilantes: from February 2024 they are paid 500 rubles for an hour of participation in the protection of public order. Authorities are now proposing to set the same hourly rate for volunteers who help border authorities protect the state border.

Interestingly, in April 2026, the regional Ministry of Security reported that the total amount of payments to vigilantes for 2025 amounted to 11 million rubles.

Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” said that in the Murmansk region want to introduce new payments to the police.
