Home-plane “remembered” Stalinogorsk: the legend of Novomoskovsk filmed a new podcast
By the centenary of Novomoskovsk, Levsha Media Holding continues to release a series of video podcasts about the architectural heritage of the city

The residential complex is one of the few buildings that have survived to this day from the era when Stalinogorsk (as Novomoskovsk was called until 1961) was built as a city of the future. It was built in the 1930s, when the Zavodskaya district was one of the most ceremonial in the city: here, step by step, the appearance of a new industrial center was formed. The city had plans of the highest level - Stalinogorsk claimed the title of chemical capital of Europe.
It was in this atmosphere of industrial growth that the residential complex at the GRES appeared. The smooth curve of the facade resembles the silhouette of a flying aircraft - a machine that has become a symbol of the era. Today, the house remains a rare “living” witness to the scale of plans with which the young chemical city was built.
The second series of the project is already available to viewers. The series tells how the Zavodskaya district was formed, why the architects chose such an unusual shape of the building and what remains of the Stalinogorsk ambitions in today's Novomoskovsk.
Recall that the “Fasades of the Soviet Dream” is not the only project of the holding dedicated to the anniversary of the city. Previously, “Left Media” has already released videos and articles about the architecture and history of Novomoskovsk, and the series of podcasts is designed to acquaint citizens with the heritage of the Constructivist era.
