Smolensk athletes have won world titles.
The coach of the sports club “Olympus” of PJSC “Dorogobuzh” Marcel Iskanderov and his pupil, a student of the 10th grade of Dorogobuzhsk school No. 2 Artem Tarasenko, presented the Smolensk region at the world championship in powerlifting and power disciplines. The competitions were held in Mytishchi near Moscow in the sports complex “Friendship” under the auspices of the WPF/WBF federations.
Both athletes demonstrated outstanding results and won world titles. Marcel Iskanderov took first place in the discipline “Lifting the bar on the biceps standing”, becoming the absolute world champion and confirming the title of master of sports of international class. Artem Tarasenko won the bench press, setting a Russian record and confirming the status of a master of sports.
The success of the coach and his student at the international level was a clear confirmation of the importance of discipline, hard work and faith in their own abilities.
