In the Kholm-Zhirkov municipal district of the Smolensk region, road works have reached the final stage

In the Kholm-Zhirkov municipal district of the Smolensk region, road works have reached the final stage. The events are held by Smolenskavtodor as part of the implementation of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”. The update affects the section of the highway connecting the federal highway M-1 "Belarus" with the settlements of Khmelita, Holm-Zhirkovsky and Yakovlevo, including the village of Kanyutino.
At the repaired site with a length of 5.8 kilometers, specialists have already completed the laying of the leveling and upper layers of asphalt concrete coating. Currently, contractors have focused on the final stages of improvement, which include the installation of reliable drainage systems, the installation of railings and the installation of signal columns to clearly indicate the boundaries of the carriageway.
Full implementation of this stage of the national project will significantly improve the level of safety and comfort of movement for all road users in this municipal district. Updating road infrastructure will not only reduce travel time for locals, but will also help improve the transport accessibility of remote settlements. Such initiatives clearly demonstrate the systematic approach of regional authorities to the modernization of the road network and sustainable development of rural areas.
