An effective mechanism to promote the peace agenda. Dmitry Zhuk on the Minsk Security Conference

Minister of Information of Belarus Dmitry Zhuk spoke about the role of the Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security in promoting the peace agenda. He shared his opinion on this matter on the program “Editors Club” on the TV channel “Belarus 1”, writes sb.by.

On November 3-4, the IV Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security was held in the Belarusian capital.

- This is a very effective mechanism for promoting the peace agenda on our planet. This Eurasianism, which was presented there – in the form of experts, heads of foreign ministries, diplomats of another level – is very weighty, said Dmitry Zhuk.

Our opponents in the West simply cannot ignore this conference.

The President’s speech is very realistic. He is a real politician who sees all the existing contradictions, even at the level of actions of the same persons. Nevertheless, it takes as a basis those points on which to converge. The most important goal is to extinguish the escalation, Dmitry Zhuk stressed.

He pointed out that we are mentally different from the West

- Let's start with simple household topics. How were we raised? It's not good to take someone else. How are our western neighbors raised? It is profitable to take someone else. Let's just say that even the land on which the United States is located has been taken from the native population. These mental stories, in any way, will imprint the negotiation paradigm.

The guest of the program noted that the escalation has already reached its limit and today there are several explosive points in the world: the Middle East, Ukraine, Latin America

- Escalation at these points is not the first time. These points have been known in modern history for many decades. The president has sent a very clear message. As chaotic as the actions of the main player on the planet – the United States and its leader – have not allowed anyone to make an irreparable decision. This is a very important point. We see and understand perfectly well that despite all our differences, inside you do not want a global war, a global conflict. But in order to prevent it, it is necessary to extinguish these conflicts at local points. The President expressed his personal view that the conflict in Ukraine could be ended in the next few months. This is the message to which, in fact, it moves the international community, Dmitry Zhuk concluded.
