Former technical director of the water utility in the Stavropol region received a sentence for dumping on the protected mountain Beshtau

The Prosecutor’s office of Pyatigorsk supported the state prosecution in a criminal case against a 46-year-old resident of Kislovodsk. The court found him guilty of exceeding official powers and violating the regime of specially protected natural territories.

As the investigation established, the technical director of one of the branches of the State Unitary Enterprise SK Stavropolkrayvodokanal from June to September 2023 instructed the subordinate to transport the waste of the enterprise of the 5th class of danger to the territory of the natural monument of regional significance "Mountain Beshtau". After that, he ordered to level the garbage with an excavator in the protected area.

As a result of illegal actions, the soil was damaged in the amount of more than 25 million rubles.

Taking into account the position of the state prosecutor, the court sentenced the defendant to 3 years of imprisonment with serving in a general regime correctional colony. In addition, he is deprived of the right to hold positions related to organizational, administrative and administrative functions in the civil service and in local self-government bodies for 2 years.
