Former Deputy head of the government of the Ivanovo region suspected of exceeding powers

FSB officers detained the former Deputy Prime Minister of the Ivanovo region. According to the regional prosecutor's office, the official is suspected of exceeding official powers: the investigation believes that he out of selfish motives helped the entrepreneur get the post of head of one of the municipal districts.

Officially, the supervisory authority did not name the detainee. However, according to IvanovoNews, we are talking about Evgeny Nesterov, who heads the Council of municipalities of the Ivanovo region. He left the post of deputy chairman of the regional government at the end of 2025.

Currently, the issue of electing the suspect a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.

Previously, former representatives of the regional leadership in cases of abuse of authority were detained in the region. In particular, the ex-mayor of Ivanovo Alexander Shabotinsky was charged with patronage of companies engaged in the repair of apartment buildings. He didn't admit it. Within the framework of this case, the director of the regional housing department Denis Kochnev and the former head of the department Vladislav Martyanov were also detained.
