Former deputy head of traffic police in the Voronezh region could not return the confiscated mansion

The Voronezh Regional Court on October 15 rejected the appeal of Igor Kachkin, the former deputy head of the regional traffic police department. He tried to challenge the seizure of a residential building of about 500 square meters in the Ramon district.

A district court ruled in May to confiscate the facility. It turned out that the property was registered for Kachkin’s parents, but they did not have enough funds to purchase it. The ex-policeman himself, occupying public office, hid this property and expenses for it. The prosecutor’s office also found that the house appeared on the site, which had previously been seized as a state income.

In 2022, the Kachkin family confiscated 18 real estate objects worth 44.6 million rubles and recovered more than 5 million rubles. In 2023, he was convicted of attempted bribery. The decision on the mansion is upheld and entered into force.
