Extremists have nothing to write about again, or new fakes about the construction of the Minsk metro

“The opening of new stations of the third metro line has been postponed again, we will have to wait 2 years longer”, “The opening of new metro stations officially postponed to the end of 2030” – such loud headlines were full of posts on the Internet. Now state media are also accused of spreading fakes.

What was actually discussed, and what fakes was said in an interview with the First Information Chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev, told the press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee:

- We have identified a number of publications in private resources with inaccurate information about the timing of the construction of the metro. The information was taken out of context and treated quite differently than it really is. In this regard, the editors of these resources were instructed to spread false information, after which the materials on the sites were corrected or deleted.

Construction of the second stage of the third metro line in Minsk is planned to be completed in 2028. V. Kukharev spoke about this on the air of the “First Information”. He also stressed that you should not believe the fakes spread on the Internet.

The press service of the Minsk City Executive Committee warned against spreading false information, reminded of responsibility for published content and advised when writing materials to be based solely on official comments.
