Almost 280 thousand rubles was transferred to fraudsters by a resident of Yelets, who was looking for a remote part-time job. Unknown people offered her a vacancy as a freelancer, and then convinced her to apply for loans in banks.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Lipetsk region, a girl born in 2007 found an ad in the messenger and was interviewed via video link. First, she was persuaded to issue a credit card and transfer 13,707 rubles through a telephone balance to an allegedly freelance exchange. Then, under the pretext of checking credit history, they offered to apply to five banks. Two of them approved loans.
The scammers assured Yelchan that they themselves will pay off the debts, and asked to send money to his brother, who was called a confidant. He transferred the funds to the specified details.
The girl was told to wait seven days, but the loans were never closed. She then went to the police. A criminal fraud case has been opened.
