In Astana, a 15-year-old Russian woman was hospitalized with Quincke's edema after lunch at a local fast food establishment. This is reported by the Telegram channel Mash.
According to the channel, the girl came to the capital of Kazakhstan with her mother on vacation. They decided to eat in the fast food area of one of the shopping centers. The schoolgirl ate a fries burger.
A few hours later, the teenager began an allergic reaction. Antihistamines did not help and the mother called an ambulance. The victim was taken to the hospital and put an IV.
In the tests, doctors revealed an excess of neutrophils and a decrease in lymphocytes. This indicated acute bacterial inflammation. The patient's mother said there were other children in the clinic who were eating at the same facility.
Parents of the affected schoolchildren suggest that the meat patties contained sulfites. Their excess can provoke allergies and swelling Quincke.
