Fountain “Lovers” in Volgograd will be updated until the end of 2026

A municipal contract for the implementation of a complex of restoration measures was concluded with the company that won the open competition. The project fits into the general concept of step-by-step improvement of Mira Street: updating the fountain is an integral element of transforming the urban environment in this territory.

The specialists face a large-scale task: to completely modernize the internal engineering system of the facility, restore damaged concrete elements, replace outdated communications and return the original appearance to granite cladding. Special attention will be paid to the sculptural composition – the masters will conduct a thorough cleaning to remove accumulated contamination and emphasize artistic details.

The transformation of public spaces is one of the main directions of the ten-year development program of Volgograd. As part of the overall tasks for the improvement of the region for 2026, work is planned in 107 recreation areas and yard areas. Currently, contractors are actively working on 28 sites, 52 more public areas and two yards have already completed the improvement.

Three large projects that have been transferred from last year and received grant support at the IX All-Russian competition of the best projects for creating a comfortable urban environment are entering the final stage. Large-scale transformations are underway in Uryupinsk, Leninsk and Krasnoslobodsk. In addition, the third stage of renovation of the Aksai Dubrava Park is being implemented in Kotelnikovo.

In Volgograd itself, the municipal improvement program as of September covers 15 recreational areas and 5 adjoining plots - all of them are gradually put in order to make the urban environment aesthetically pleasing and more convenient for residents and guests of the city.
