Natalia Matskevich: “Yes, physically combining life and career can be difficult, but my favorite work keeps me in good shape, and the family rear fills life with absolute meaning”
For almost 13 years, the rights, interests of children and adolescents have been guarded by a native of the village of Talminovichi, and now Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Minors Affairs of the local Lyakhovichi District Executive Committee Natalia Matskevich. This year, she was awarded the title of “Person of the Year” of the Lyakhovichi district in the nomination “Law and Order, Public Security, Local Governance and Self-Government”. The award is a natural result of her many years of dedicated work for the benefit of a small homeland.
However, the greatest reward for a woman is the happiness of motherhood. The mother of three children knows perfectly well how difficult it is to bear them, give birth and raise them, and her personal experience, pedagogical education and sense of responsibility help her to adequately cope with the tasks that the civil service imposes.

After graduating from Baranovichi Pedagogical School, Natalia returned to Lyakhovichi as a primary school teacher. Later she received a diploma from the Brest Pedagogical Institute named after A. S. Pushkin and took the position of Deputy Director for Academic Affairs. She devoted more than 20 years of work to her native educational institution and with a smile on her face talks about the first lesson, school weekdays and holidays.
- I remember my first working day for a second, says Natalia Matskevich. A little scared and curious eyes of first-graders, beautiful bouquets of gladioli and chrysanthemums, acquaintance, lesson... So exciting and so important.
With her second half, fellow countryman Sergey, Natalia met at the holiday with mutual friends. After some time, the lovers married and became happy parents of sons Oleg and Ivan. A little later was born and daughter Tatiana.
- Children are our happiness! – shares the interlocutor. Now that they are adults, we often remember our big and small adventures together. For example, the annual July trips. We have visited many places in Belarus. We cherish the memorable photos of those years and continue to come together at every opportunity.
Since 2007, Natalia Frantsevna has been working in the Lyakhovichi District Executive Committee. Combining pedagogy and civil service in her activities, she found the ideal combination of them. Behind every administrative decision and line of report he always sees the main thing – human destinies, so he sincerely strives to help and protect those who need it.
- My maternal experience and pedagogical education were very useful in my work in the commission on juvenile affairs, Natalia Matskevich emphasizes. It is especially helpful that I know the inside out of teaching. Yes, at first there were gaps in laws and legal subtleties, but they are much easier to fill than the pedagogical base. The basis of everything we do is the psychology of the child, the understanding of his characteristics and the ability to communicate with people in general. If you have learned to negotiate with young children, then trying to find the right approach to an adult is not so difficult.
Natalia Frantsevna is happy that her family life and a series of work duties are intertwined into a single whole, where she is a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, as well as an experienced specialist who has earned the trust and respect of a huge number of people.

- Education plays a crucial role, she said. And the learning process itself must be continuous, otherwise you simply become far from life, fall behind it and cease to understand the changing realities. If you want to work effectively, you need to improve constantly. The area is small, everything and everything in sight. Of course, first of all, we protect the rights of the child, but when there is even the slightest chance to preserve a not very prosperous family, we fight without losing hope
Humane, individual approach confirms the fact that over the past 13 years, the commission of the district executive committee only twice sent petitions to the court to place teenagers in special educational institutions.
- If earlier all prevention was reduced to ordinary conversations, today the approaches have changed, the interlocutor emphasizes. These are meetings with representatives of the law, excursions, the opening of visual prevention centers. The most powerful tool was civic-patriotic education: patriotic clubs, marathons, dialogue platforms. A teenager is the person we shape: parents, school, society. Our task is to help orient ourselves in the modern world, not to let us stumble, to support with word and deed. And every week should be filled with parental love for Belarusians.
By the way, the very first in the Week of parental love, the friendly family of Matskevich congratulates Natalia’s mother Tatiana Ivanovna.
- My husband’s mother is no longer with us, she said. Our grandparents’ contributions are our greatest wealth. We are one whole and each meeting is perceived as a unique opportunity to embrace each other, listen, support, enjoy achievements, work or just relax in the circle of relatives and irreplaceable. We already have a lot of family traditions. For example, on Women’s Day, all household chores and organizational festive tasks are taken over exclusively by men. And when you are surrounded by care at home, wings grow behind your back and every new day becomes a small holiday. Then you come to work with readiness to give a hundred and even more percent.
The result of this dedication was a series of professional tasks, implemented initiatives and high appreciation of work at all levels.
- The state award gave me a clear understanding: my work is really important for the country, says Natalia Frantsevna. It opened a second wind in me. Since I am recognized as a professional, then I need to work and develop further.
When you have three or more children, the phrase “Family is my rear” takes on a literal meaning. But for this rear to work like a clock and at the same time to have time for professional self-realization, you need to work hard, and not only physically. However, it is necessary to rest.
- Robot vacuum cleaner, multi-cooker, washing machine – these are the gifts from my family that help me to cope with chores at home faster and carve out time for health care and rest. Yes, physically combining life and career can be difficult, but my favorite work keeps me in good shape, and the family rear fills life with absolute meaning.
What else does a woman need to be happy?
