Where to work? Arkhangelsk region is working on career guidance for young people

In the Arkhangelsk region in the first half of 2026, more than 35 thousand young residents of the region took part in career guidance events. The system integrates schools, colleges, universities, human resources centers and businesses and helps young northerners choose a profession tailored to the needs of the labor market. This is reported by the regional Ministry of labor, employment and social development.

The unified system of career guidance and routing of young people has been operating in Pomorie since September 2025. Last year, its events covered more than 90 thousand people, 89 enterprises joined the work.

Among the most popular areas in the region in 2026 are shipbuilding, forestry, unmanned aircraft systems, pedagogy and transport and logistics.

Personnel centers together with the Center for Advanced Professional Training conduct career guidance tours to enterprises, excursions, master classes and meetings with employers for young people. In addition, 41 agreements were concluded with career centers of universities and colleges.

More than 15,000 students are currently studying at NAFU. By the end of 2025, 87% of graduates were employed, and 75% found work at enterprises of the Arkhangelsk region.

Specialists of personnel centers begin to interact with students one to two years before graduation. They advise young people, help prepare resumes and arrange meetings with potential employers. Individual plans are developed for those who need additional support.

In 2026, more than three thousand young citizens and 302 employers took part in the Business Debut project. There are also 14 youth clubs at staffing centers.

According to Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Arkhangelsk region Igor Skubenko, the main task of the system is not the number of career guidance activities, but their practical result - the training of specialists in accordance with the needs of the region's economy.
