Geomagnetic situation stabilizes: no magnetic storms are expected on October 17
After a series of powerful geomagnetic disturbances of the beginning of the week, the Earth returns to a calm state

After a series of powerful geomagnetic disturbances early in the week, the Earth is returning to a calm state. As reported in the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy IKI RAS, on Saturday, October 17, 2026, full-fledged magnetic storms are not predicted. The geomagnetic activity index (Kp) will drop to a minimum background level of 2 points.
Recall that earlier the planet was hit by a storm level G3, caused by solar plasma emissions, because of which the Earth’s magnetosphere for several days “practiced” the impact. According to the forecast of the British Geological Survey, the impact of solar flows continues to weaken, although during the day there will be a slight disturbance (Kp 3.3-3.7 points).
Experts recommend that weather-dependent people during the recovery period observe a gentle regime: control pressure, avoid stress and excessive loads, and adhere to a healthy lifestyle.
