Residents of the right bank of Voronezh will remain on Thursday without water, and therefore without heating. Specialists of the water utility will stop the supply of cold water from 09:00 to 23:00 on October 22.
The Voronezh water utility carries out further modernization of the water-lifting station UPS No. 11. The key task of these works is to make the system more reliable and reduce the risk of accidents.
Specialists will have to use a new water conduit with a diameter of 1000 mm and a length of three kilometers. This is the final stage of a major reconstruction. The new site itself was laid in advance. Now employees will connect it, check for tightness and ensure coordinated operation of the water conduit with modernized machine room equipment - pumping units, control cabinets and valves.
Thanks to these measures, bandwidth will increase, the load on the system will be distributed more evenly, and the likelihood of large outages will decrease. UPS-11 provides water to a number of areas of the Right Bank, so updating the station directly affects the stability of the water supply.
In this regard, specialists will have to temporarily stop the supply of cold water from 09:00 to 23:00 on October 22 at the following addresses:
To bring the reconstruction to the end before the arrival of sub-zero temperatures is a mandatory requirement to avoid risks and prevent accidents.
RVC-Voronezh asks citizens to make water reserves in advance and treat with understanding the temporary inconveniences. All activities are aimed at long-term improvement of the quality of utilities and improving the reliability of urban infrastructure.
The Voronezh authorities will tell about how kindergartens, schools and other social facilities will work a little later.
