God’s grace extends over our homes and families
Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk congratulated Orthodox Christians on the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea Yuri Gotsanyuk congratulated Orthodox Christians on the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God. In his channel in the messenger “Max”, he recalled the legend of the appearance of the Virgin in the Vlachernsky Church and urged believers to become a “cover” for their neighbors.
Gotsanyuk noted that where human weapons are powerless and earthly means are exhausted, an insurmountable wall stands “a shining veil of love, woven from the invisible threads of motherly prayer.”.
According to him, Pokrov is a holiday of invisible, but tangible intercession, hope and spiritual consolation. It goes back to the legend of the appearance of the Most Holy Theotokos in the Church of Blacherna in Constantinople, when She, as a sign of Her protection, stretched Her omophorion over those praying, protecting her from imminent death.
The Prime Minister stressed that this day reminds us that a believer is not left alone with sorrows and anxieties. The veil of the Most Holy Mother of God extends over houses and families, over the Crimean land, sheltering from adversity those who turn to Her with faith and love in prayer.
“And along with the joy of heavenly protection comes an important thought: accepting mercy from above, we ourselves are called upon to become at least a small “cover” for our neighbors – not to pass by someone else’s misfortune, to support with word and deed,” the source said.
In conclusion, Gotsanyuk wished everyone good health, peace in families, peace of mind and success in good deeds.
