“Granite Age” on Belovka: instead of centuries, tiles on the Soviet lasted one winter
Orenburg residents were promised that the tiles of Mansurov granite on the main pedestrian street “should lie for centuries”

Under the contract, the contractor puts in order the segment of the Soviet in the framework of warranty obligations - the guarantee is five years. The work is boiling: workers bring sand on wheelbarrows and lay tiles in the holes formed. However, the new tile is much lighter and contrastingly different from the rest of the coating - surrounded by gray granite, it looks like a white spot. Moreover, in its appearance, it resembles granite, which is now laid on the upper embankment by workers of the Novye Vek company from St. Petersburg, performing improvement there for 175.3 million rubles. Workers with wheelbarrows are in a hurry because of the fence, where work is going on on the embankment.
Separately, it is worth remembering the history of the project. The first stage of the improvement of the Soviet began in 2023: work on the site from Belovka to Pravda Street was carried out by Uni-Stroy LLC, their cost was 153,142,930.90 rubles (the initial price was higher - 171,109,420 rubles). “Now we are not laying concrete tiles, but granite. Eight. That's decades, even centuries. It will lie there for many, many years, Denis Pasler commented. The government added that the contractor “quickly adapted to the new material and the specifics of working with it.”.
Two things are important here. The first is trust in promises, the phrase of then-Governor Denis Psaler about “the century” and “the century” sounded convincing against the backdrop of the impressive amount of the contract, but the reality was different. The tile did not last a year, and now it is changed under warranty. The second is the quality of the repair, new bright patches in the center of the historical street, near the main monument, look foreign and do not solve the problem of the integrity of the coating. Moreover, in appearance, they resemble the material that is used in a nearby facility, and the question arises: is this a planned replacement or just used what was at hand? In whose hot head came the idea to repair the destroyed coating, one can only guess. But the fact remains that instead of the “granite age”, Orenburg received another stage of endless tile shifting.
And do you think that contractors who have made such defects should change the coverage at their own expense completely, rather than patching individual plots, or is warranty repair already a sufficient measure?
