In Stavropol continues harvesting corn

In the Stavropol region continues harvesting corn. As of today, 41.6% of sown areas have been harvested, 313.9 thousand tons have been threshed. This was reported by Governor Vladimir Vladimirov.
The average yield is 68.2 centners per hectare – this is significantly higher than last year’s level at the same stage. Leading in yield Stepnovsky, Kochubeyevsky, Trunovsky and Neftekum districts.
“Maize is a universal crop, mainly it goes to the feed base of livestock,” the governor said.
The largest areas under this culture are in the Novoaleksandrovsky, Izobilnensky, Podgorny, Ipatovsky and Kochubeyevsky districts. This year, 14 projects for the development of land reclamation, which is especially important for corn, are receiving state support. They will cover about 6.5 thousand hectares.
“This will help to get good harvests, improve the economy of agriculture and the lives of people in the countryside,” Vladimir Vladimirov concluded.
