Hieromonk Theodoret explained what to pray for the Virgin on the Intercession
Hieromonk Theodoret told how the Queen of Heaven helps in family quarrels, fight bad habits and protection from detractors.
On October 14, Orthodox Christians celebrate one of the most revered holidays – the Intercession of the Most Holy Mother of God. On this day it is necessary to go to the temple, but not everyone understands what requests it is better to address to the Queen of Heaven. Hieromonk Theodorit (Senchukov) shared important spiritual instructions.
According to the priest, the holiday reminds us that the Virgin “covers” us with her omophorion, saving and protecting us. You can and should pray for protection from enemies. At the same time, we are talking not only about external detractors or military threats, but also about “enemies within”.
The priest explains that believers ask the Queen of Heaven to protect them from spiritual enemies who cling to our passions, bad thoughts and push us to bad deeds. The Virgin helps to cope with harmful inclinations and become better.
Separately, Father Feodorit touched on the topic of family conflicts. Often in the heat of a quarrel, close people begin to behave like enemies. At such moments, prayer to the Blessed Virgin can change the course of thought, cool anger and help find a way to reconciliation.
