In the Nizhnekamsk district of Tatarstan, the historical estate of Stakheev merchants, located on the picturesque shore of the Kama, has found a new owner, Tatarstan 24 writes. Entrepreneur from Naberezhnye Chelny Sergey Rachkov purchased a cultural heritage site for a symbolic amount of one ruble. For many years, the old mansion remained abandoned: doors and windows were boarded up, and from the once elegant stucco only barely guessed outlines survived. A fire that occurred inside the building in 2021 further complicated the condition of the monument, putting at risk the very possibility of its restoration.
However, the new owner intends to breathe a second life into the estate. According to his plans, after the restoration there will be a platform for solemn events. Within the walls of the mansion, it is planned to equip a hall for receptions, balls and large forums, and the adjacent territory is to be landscaped so that the historical complex becomes attractive for tourists and guests of the republic.
The news that the estate will be handed over to a private investor met with approval among local residents. People expect that thanks to the restoration it will be possible to preserve the historical heritage of the merchant mansion, revive it, and that the house again became the hallmark of the Kama embankment.
