Historical minimum number of forest fires recorded in the Vologda region

The fire season in the forests of the region officially ended today, October 15.

Last season, three forest fires were recorded on a total area of 2.65 hectares. These figures were the lowest in the history of the region. Fires were allowed in Babaev, Cherepovets and Verkhovaz districts. All of them were destroyed on the first day. The number of fires compared to last year decreased by 77%, their area – by 90.5%.

The work is carried out on a four-level monitoring system: space and video monitoring, air and ground patrols. Information about fires is received in the new Regional dispatch service, created on behalf of the Governor. Also, the Billing people detection system and the Lesnik smart sensor acoustic system have been introduced. In the territories not covered by video monitoring, a mobile balloon complex with a video camera worked.
