“A fire chariot will come out of Kiev”: Elder Zosima predicted severe trials for Russia – what he said about the future
“Fiery chariot from Kiev”: the frightening prophecy of Elder Zosima about the fate of Russia.

In the information space, the name of Schiarchimandrite Zosima is increasingly being discussed. He is credited with mystical visions that many believers believe are strikingly accurate in describing the current geopolitical storms and spiritual crises that await the Orthodox world.
The most ominous symbol of his legacy is the “Fire Chariot”. According to legend, she should move from Kiev, which in the Orthodox tradition is historically called the “mother of Russian cities”. This event will be followed by a large-scale wave of turmoil, which will inevitably seize vast territories of the Russian land.
The prescient elder also pointed to the expansionist appetites of the Western powers, predicting their fierce ideological and political clash with Russia. However, he saw even greater danger in internal threats: attempts to destroy faith from within, to incite panic on people and provoke a deep split when brothers in faith are on opposite sides of the barricades.
But there is a ray of hope in this grim scenario. Zosima bequeathed not to succumb to despondency: with God’s help, Holy Russia will withstand any historical storms and eventually win a bloodless spiritual victory.
But should this be taken as an irrefutable guide to the future? Historians and religious scholars call for a critical look. Most of these "prophecies" have come down to us through the decades in the form of oral retellings and later records. Their original context is often irretrievably lost, and the parallels with today’s news are already retroactive, which in itself does not prove their mystical nature.
Nevertheless, these legends make us think about the main thing: in the era of global changes, the most important thing is to maintain inner resilience, sober mind and not lose human appearance.
