Plans to connect the two countries with direct regular flights appeared last summer. Belavia began its flight program to Thailand with a charter format - in January 2026, flights to Pattaya and Phuket began. Now the airline has reached a new level - opened Bangkok to Belarusians.

On the night of October 25, 270 passengers went to the hot country. The flight duration is 9 hours 55 minutes in the direction of Bangkok and almost an hour longer back. Belarusians will fly on a wide-body aircraft Airbus A330-200, capable of making direct flights for 8 thousand kilometers or more.

The high demand for a new flight among passengers is predicted by the general director of Belavia Airlines Igor Cherginets:
The high demand for a new flight among passengers is predicted by the general director of Belavia Airlines Igor Cherginets:

Thailand is a popular destination, relevant among Belarusians. The flight to Bangkok is regular. Unlike the charter, it will not only travel groups, but also passengers individually. Most tickets were sold out a month before departure.

Belarusian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ruslan Varankov said:

- The opening of flights to Bangkok is a big event, because in recent years some flights for our tourists have been lost. Thailand, like other Southeast Asian countries, is a promising market. Despite the fact that in general it is a popular place, it is not saturated with tourists and is as accessible as possible for Belarusians.

The opening of flights to Bangkok contributes to the strengthening of business and friendly relations between the two countries, noted the Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Thailand in the Republic of Belarus Ivan Chura:

Bangkok ranks third in the world in terms of tourist attendance. Belarusians are comfortable there because we are similar to the people of Thailand. Just as hospitable, friendly. In the list of places where you should visit lovers of travel, Thailand should definitely be.

It is one of the most popular countries for beach holidays in Asia: tropical climate, about 250 sunny days a year. Many people dream of getting there. Dreams of summer in the autumn became a reality for the Drozd family.

Dmitry and Nadezhda are from Minsk. The trip to Bangkok was carefully planned. They were the first to buy tickets and even received a gift from the airline:

- Fly for beauty. We want to enjoy nature, the sea, warm weather. We’ve been to Thailand before, but we’ve been on a flight. Plus five hours to fly. The possibility of a direct flight greatly facilitates the path. Thank you to Belavia and everyone involved in this amazing event.
