Boars decided to get acquainted with the residents of the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg

In the Primorsky district of St. Petersburg, herds of wild boars began to come out to St. Petersburg. This is reported by residents of the area in social networks.

Boars demonstrate a high degree of organization, gathering in herds from more than three individuals. This is because it makes it easier for animals to survive in nature. Together, they find it easier to find food, protect themselves from predators and take care of their offspring. The basis of such groups are usually females and their young - kinship ties help coordinate actions.

By the end of May 2026, about 25.5 thousand elk, about 3.2 thousand bears and about 1.3 thousand wild boars were recorded in the Leningrad region.
