How the multi-stage system of quality control of medicines in Belarus works, the director of the Center for Expertise and Testing in Healthcare Dmitry Grinko told BelTA.

Belarus pursues a unified policy in the field of ensuring the safety, efficiency and quality of medical products entering the country. “We can say with confidence that thanks to this system, the quality of products is controlled at different stages,” Dmitry Grinko said.
According to the director, at the stage of entry into the market, strict state registration of medicines is carried out, and before the direct entry of products into the market, it undergoes mandatory laboratory control. “A system for monitoring side effects and other negative consequences of drug use is constantly in place,” he explained.
Currently, there are 57 domestic manufacturers of medicines in Belarus. “In terms of quality, domestic drugs are no different from drugs produced in the West or the East,” the director added.
Dmitry Grinko also noted that the Belarusian experience of testing medicines deserves attention. According to him, some national mechanisms for the registration of medicines have been adopted by the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. Strict control system, as noted by the Director, allows you to avoid high-profile cases associated with negative consequences from drugs.
