How to protect the dacha from thieves: simple and proven tips from the police
When summer residents return to the city, cottages become an easy target for thieves: in the Vitebsk region since the beginning of the year, 75 thefts from country houses have been registered.
Police of Vitebsk region draws attention: theft from country houses and garden associations is one of the most frequent types of property crimes in the region.
With the end of the summer season and the return of owners to city apartments, the number of citizens’ appeals related to theft from country houses is growing.
In the Vitebsk region since the beginning of 2026 registered 75 cases of theft of property.
The police of the Vitebsk region urges to take precautions!
Try not to store valuables in the country house - including household equipment, household appliances, tools and building materials.
Do not neglect regular visits to the site – visit it from time to time, even in winter.
Strengthen window protection: install metal grilles or protective shutters.
Consider the possibility of equipping the house with a video surveillance system and alarm system – this will increase the level of security.
