To get rid of bad energy, on October 23, a special ceremony was held - they bought a new knife, plunged it into the doorstep and pronounced a security conspiracy. It was left at the entrance for 10 days, then hidden away and never used again: it was considered a talisman, "collecting" all the negativity.

The holiday was also considered a favorable time for economic worries. Women were engaged in cooking and needlework, men - repairing equipment or any useful work that requires skill and attention. According to legend, everything made on this day with their own hands brought peace and prosperity to the house.
