What achievements of modern Belarus are proud of its residents, testify to the results of the republican sociological research, which concerns topical issues of social and economic development of Belarus, the correspondent of the agency "Minsk-Novosti".
Thus, 85.2% of respondents are proud of peaceful life, 62.5% - the quality of food, 57.9% - the cleanliness and improvement of settlements, 37.9% - the preservation of historical memory, 36% - the social security of the population.

- The fact that Belarusians put life under a peaceful sky in the first place is an indicator of understanding the difficulties that exist in the world, recognition of the role of the state and the policy of our President. The same position was held by previous generations – the main thing is that there should be no war. Life shows that this is really the most important value. And the colossal efforts that the state is making, developing the economy, focusing on the younger generation, are all aimed at ensuring a peaceful life, said Nikolai Myslivets, Director of the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences.
Other values are also important for Belarusians, in particular social security. According to the director of the institute, “the state provides us with the appropriate infrastructure, creates opportunities for self-realization, provides preferences and benefits.”.
- The welfare state is an indispensable value for our society. Belarusians are proud of this and take care of it. When we compiled this survey, it was very important to us whether society values what the state does to ensure peaceful life and social security. And we see that society appreciates the efforts of the state, — said the Deputy Director of BISI Vitaly Punchenko.
In July - August 2026, the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus commissioned by BISI conducted a comprehensive republican sociological study. It was attended by 2,045 respondents from all regions of the country. The first part of the results of the social research, which deals with topical issues of social and economic development of Belarus, was presented in Minsk today.
