Calendar of dates: significant events on October 22

White Cranes Day is dedicated to the memory of fallen soldiers and is associated with the poem of the same name by Rasul Gamzatov - on this day poetry readings, actions with paper cranes and commemorative events are held throughout the country.

October 22 is the Day of Financial Economic Service of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation: a holiday of specialists who ensure the financial stability of the army.

In the national calendar, the date is known as Yakov Woodmill: earlier from this day, firewood was actively harvested for the winter, believing that the autumn tree burns better and gives more heat.
