Cardiologists of Chuvashia reminded about the risks of influenza for the heart

Specialists of the Republican Cardiology Dispensary reminded residents of Chuvashia about the risks of complications of influenza, especially for people with cardiovascular diseases.

The infection causes an inflammatory response and can increase the risk of severe cardiovascular complications. One of them is myocarditis - inflammation of the heart muscle.

One of the main ways to prevent influenza is vaccination. Employees of the cardiology dispensary also undergo immunization before the season of increased morbidity.

Doctors note that a protective immune response after vaccination is formed within about two weeks, so vaccination is recommended before the active spread of the virus.

Vaccination is carried out within the framework of preventive work corresponding to the objectives of the national project “Long and active life”.
