On the constant control of KGC of Vitebsk region are issues of validity and efficiency of procurement of goods, works and services. Thanks to the intervention of the department, it is possible not only to prevent unreasonable and in violation of the requirements of the legislation, but also to save significant amounts of budgetary funds. A striking example was the detection of violations during the construction of a sports complex in Vitebsk. The purchase of expensive equipment was included in the design and estimate documentation without proper market research and field work. Thus, the cost of laptops, printing devices and multimedia equipment was inflated by 30-200%.

Identified KGC and another problem that affected all areas of the Vitebsk region — procurement procedures for the design and construction of facilities without the presence of contractors certificates of conformity for the implementation of customer functions. Lack of necessary knowledge and competence naturally leads to elementary errors leading to excessive spending of funds, including own. An indicative case is when the cost of procurement for the design of a dairy farm was reduced by half after a similar procedure was carried out by a customer certified in the field of construction.
