Hinstein announced the extension of benefits for families of the Kursk border
Families living in border areas will be able to continue to receive a monthly payment for a child under special conditions

Families living in border areas will continue to receive a monthly payment for a child under special conditions. The Governor of the Kursk region Alexander Khinshtein said that after his appeal to the Government of the Russian Federation, a long-awaited resolution was adopted, preserving this measure of support.
This type of assistance was introduced at the initiative of the regional authorities last year. However, the federal decree expired at the end of 2025. The issue of the need to extend the benefits was repeatedly raised at meetings of the Coordination Council, as well as during personal meetings of the governor with residents of the border region.
The main feature of the program is that when calculating need, property located in border areas is not taken into account. Payment can be assigned to unemployed parents in a number of cases:
if the average per capita income of the family exceeds the subsistence minimum;
if earnings for the calculation period amounted to less than 8 minimum wage;
with no income at all.
In situations where the income per family member still exceeds the subsistence minimum, a single benefit will be paid in the amount of 50% of this amount.
It is important to note that the support measure has retroactive effect: accruals can be made starting from January 2026. To receive payments, you must apply before December 31. This can be done through the portal of public services, in the branches of the MFC or in the Social Fund, said Alexander Khinshtein.
