Cyber fraudsters lured from residents of the Ivanovo region more than 390 million rubles

In January-September, 2,173 crimes committed using information and telecommunication technologies were registered in the Ivanovo region. According to law enforcement agencies, this is 26% less than in the same period last year.

Nearly half of this is remote fraud. The damage from the actions of telephone and Internet scammers exceeded 391 million rubles.

Another 19.3% of crimes (about 420) were committed using social engineering methods - psychological manipulations to lure confidential data.

However, a significant decrease in the number of victims among vulnerable groups of the population was recorded: the number of crimes against pensioners decreased by 44.1% (264 cases), minors by 8.9% (41 cases), and disabled people by 59.1% (18 cases).
