The transfer of books about the Great Patriotic War and the genocide of the Belarusian people to the Nizhny Novgorod State Regional Universal Scientific Library named after V. I. Lenin with the participation of the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus Vladimir Pertsov took place in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin.

This is a series of books on the theme of the Great Patriotic War, the genocide of the Belarusian people and the Great Victory, which we have published in recent years. This is a historical truth that cannot be rewrote, said Vladimir Pertsov.
At the meeting with the leadership of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the First Deputy Head of the Administration thanked for the hospitality and home reception, as well as for the opportunity to plunge into history, because it is on its foundation that the future of our peoples is built.
“Due to certain events and restrictions, we have given special intensity to our integration and economic relations. Probably, this should have happened before, but this stimulus helped us to orient ourselves and understand who our real brothers, friends and allies are, who are situational partners, and who belongs to a different category of states and peoples.
According to him, the Belarusian side came to Nizhny Novgorod with a special mission: to present to local residents an emotional requiem concert “Every third”, the premiere of which took place on Poklonnaya Hill in Moscow. Later it was seen by Belarusian spectators, the concert was also shown in the Kremlin Palace, in St. Petersburg and in Kazan.
Vladimir Pertsov stressed that for a long time it was believed that every fourth Belarusian died in the Great Patriotic War, but in 2021 the Prosecutor General’s Office launched an investigation into the criminal case of the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War, which lasts 5 years and is still not closed, since 166 mass graves of Belarusian civilians were discovered as part of the investigation.
“They are mostly old people, children and women who are not members of the regular army, guerrilla or underground movements. They were killed for nothing, according to Plan Ost, a plan to exterminate 75 percent of the population of our lands. And this criminal case continues. We find other graves and, unfortunately, we can say that every third is not the final figure, said Vladimir Pertsov.
In his opinion, the pain and tragedy of our people rhymes with the events that are happening now, with the opposition to the new fascism, with which today there is an ideological struggle. It should be based on the foundation of the historical memory that we are reviving together.
First Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region Andrey Gneushev noted that pupils of the Nizhny Novgorod military-patriotic club “Dawn” almost annually visit the battlegrounds of the 137th Rifle Division, formed in the Gorky region. And in Nizhny Novgorod come cadets of the Minsk Suvorov military school. In addition, schoolchildren and students of colleges of the Nizhny Novgorod region, distinguished by their achievements, visited Brest and Minsk thanks to the educational project “Lessons with a trip”. 80th anniversary of Victory”. Cooperation in patriotic and other areas is only developing.
Belarus has been among the top three countries in terms of trade turnover among more than 100 external partners of the region for many years. A program of inter-municipal cooperation with Belarus for 2026-2028 has been developed, where about 450 events have been gathered: conferences, exhibitions, performances of creative teams, music competitions, investment, tourism and scientific and educational projects. Joint production of trams and electric buses is also developing, and Belarusian builders are actively involved in the implementation of projects in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
