In Vologda, a meeting was held, at which the results of the operational and official activities of the internal affairs bodies for the nine months of this year were summed up. The situation on the roads of the region was reported to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Vologda region Pavel Serov.
Compared to the same period last year, 32% fewer accidents involving drunk drivers. This year, 2,587 such offenders were arrested. The total number of road accidents also decreased by 16.4%. The number of deaths decreased from 94 to 69 - by 26.6%, victims - by 18.3%. Almost 17% less accidents involving children under 16 years old.
In addition, during the nine months of this year, state traffic inspectors stopped more than six thousand facts of driving vehicles by drivers without rights or deprived of them. More than 1,897,000 orders were made to bring motorists to justice.
