Kondratiev opened the Kirillo-Mefodiev readings in Krasnodar

Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev and Metropolitan Vasily took part in the plenary session of the XXXII All-Kuban Cyril-Mefodiev spiritual and educational readings, where they talked about spirituality, school and artificial intelligence. This was reported in the press service of the administration of the Krasnodar Territory.

The venue for the meeting was the Musical Theatre. The theme of this year’s readings was “Christian teaching about man and the challenges of modern technology”. The discussion was attended by teachers, school directors, mentors and representatives of the Cossacks. Metropolitan Vasily of Ekaterinodar and Kuban recalled the importance of spiritual education and a cautious attitude to new technologies.

Veniamin Kondratiev said that the readings have become a platform where the clergy, teachers, the public and the authorities together seek answers to important questions for the region. He stressed that technology should help, but not replace, live communication and upbringing.

The governor also noted that more than 80 thousand children study the basics of Orthodox culture in schools of the region. In addition, from January 1, in the fifth grades of all schools will introduce a new compulsory subject “Spiritual and moral culture of Russia”.

Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the region Yuri Burlachko added that the region needs strong teachers who will be trusted by children. He also spoke about the project “School of Young Humanities”, which since 2025 is being implemented by the Ekaterinodar Theological Seminary and KubSU. In 2026, 320 people will participate.

The plenary session ended with a concert of creative teams of the region, and ahead of the participants – the work of sections.
