The Kostroma prosecutor's office reports that in the district center of Nerekht, the district court considered a criminal case that was initiated in September 2025 on a rather rare occasion: a resident of Nerekhta addressed the police, who said that her drunken cohabitant regularly beats her 9-year-old daughter because of trifling reasons. A domestic tyrant for any “crime” (whether it was a poor grade at school or torn clothes on a walk) beat a girl, dragged her hair and insulted her with a mat.
In the end, the girl’s mother could not stand it – and here’s the result: the court first sentenced the domestic tyrant to a suspended sentence, but the prosecutor’s office appealed the sentence and on appeal made the punishment tougher: the riotous man was sent from a general regime colony for 3 years and 1 month.
The aggressor was taken into custody right in the courtroom and ordered to pay the child 50 thousand rubles compensation for moral damage.
