The Ministry of Health of Russia included Krasnodar Krai among the regions with the lowest percentage of smokers. According to the Ministry, tobacco use only 4.51% of residents of Kuban over 18 years. Statistics in his social networks shared the Chairman of ZSK Yuri Burlachko.

Burlachko noted that with the region's population of almost 6 million people, the region, despite a higher percentage of smokers than in the Caucasian republics, gives this three the largest contribution to the national statistics on the number of those who do not use tobacco.

He called these data a confirmation of the effectiveness of the state policy in the field of health care and recalled that the importance of such work has been repeatedly emphasized by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

At the same time, according to the speaker of ZSK, it is impossible to change the situation with smoking, especially among young people. This requires an integrated approach, coordination of efforts of the authorities and society, as well as the promotion of a healthy lifestyle.

Burlachko said that serious work is underway in the Krasnodar Territory in this direction. This year alone, the region adopted several laws tightening the rules for the consumption of nicotine-containing products and introducing administrative liability for violation of established rules.
