Red Book crane in Ulyanovsk can be sent for rehabilitation to the zoo

On the beach in the park of the 40th anniversary of the Komsomol noticed a beautiful crane listed in the Red Book of Russia. Presumably, the bird fought off the pack during the storm. Now her condition is observed by specialists of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources and the Ulyanovsk zoo.

According to the agency, a rare feathered guest stayed on the shore due to warm weather and an abundance of food. The crane looks healthy, flies well and does not need help yet.

Experts hope that before the onset of cold weather, the bird will join one of the migratory flocks. Otherwise, she will be caught and taken to the Ulyanovsk zoo for rehabilitation.

Beautiful cranes usually make seasonal flights in August-September. In the Ulyanovsk region, they do not nest, since the region is on the northern border of their migration.

These birds feed on grain, plants, insects and small animals. It was suitable conditions that probably allowed the crane to temporarily settle on the city beach.
