Cross procession and tricolor: the program of the Day of National Unity in the Lower

The program of celebration of the Day of National Unity in Nizhny Novgorod was published. According to ANO “Center 800”, the action “Nizhny Novgorod citizens – for Russia” will be held on November 4. Participants will be residents of the city, representatives of the clergy, the authorities, the public, as well as schoolchildren and young people. The main events will unfold in the square of national unity.

At 13:00 at the Michael-Arkhangelsk Cathedral in the Kremlin will begin a procession of the cross. More than 5 thousand people will follow the Zelensky Congress. The procession will be attended by pupils of theological schools, representatives of the authorities and the Nizhny Novgorod diocese, including Metropolitan George and Governor Gleb Nikitin.

At 13:45, the procession of young people starts: more than 500 high school students will deploy a Russian tricolor about 100 meters long at the Ivanovo Congress. The solemn part on the square near the monument to Minin and Pozharsky is planned from 13:55 to 15:00 - the ceremony of laying flowers at the monument and the performances of the participants will take place.

In addition, from 12:00 to 16:00 Nizhny Novgorod residents will be able to join the festive program near the Volga Arena on Strelka. Guests are waiting for historical reconstructions, dance and musical performances, festivals of gastronomy and folk crafts, master classes, as well as sports and cultural events. The program will be completed by the gala concert “Symbols of Unity” (12+), which will begin at 17:00.
