Crimean youth itself organizes training for fighters and the contest “Bridging thread”
In Simferopol, as part of the action “White Cranes Day”, fathers, mothers and wives of dead soldiers were awarded insignia

In Simferopol, as part of the action “White Cranes Day”, fathers, mothers and wives of dead soldiers were awarded insignia. The organizers noted that the youth of Crimea not only participates in such events, but also initiates assistance and joins the “Bridging thread” contest.
Deputy head of the ANO “Committee of families of soldiers of the Fatherland of the Republic of Crimea” Larisa Bobrikova believes that the memory of the dead is important to pass through the younger generation. She talked about the "Bridging Thread" contest.
For the second year now, the CSVO has established such a competition, called the “Bridging Thread”, and children from 8 to 23 years old participate in it. And last year, the Republic of Crimea took the second place in terms of commissioned works throughout Russia. The Moscow region was the first, and the Republic of Crimea was the second. We are proud, we are praised seriously. And you know, it’s great when children know their history, she was quoted as saying by Radio Crimea.
A member of the KSVO Kazakhstan, head of the department of organizing mass events "House of Youth" Alexandra Fedyai added that volunteering among the youth of the republic is widely developed: the guys themselves collect humanitarian aid for the soldiers of the SVO.
“Now that I’m doing an event, I understand how important it is to my mom, how important it is to my dad, how important it is to my wife.” When we do this, it goes through our hearts. And the guys who help us in the organization, too, feel it – what they do for the families of the participants of the SVO, said Fedyai.
Recall that White Cranes Day is celebrated on October 22. The holiday appeared in 1986 on the initiative of the poet Rasul Gamzatov and symbolizes the bright memory of the fallen soldiers and hope for peace time.
In Simferopol, by this date, educational meetings are traditionally held: on October 21, 2026, the staff of the library-branch No. 4 named after M. M. Kotsyubinsky held an hour-requiem “In memory of the crane cry” for gymnasium students. Students were told the history of the holiday and the song “Cranes” on Gamzatov’s poems.
The Committee of Families of Warriors of the Fatherland of the Republic of Crimea, which organized the action, is working to support the families of participants of the SVO. In November 2025, the head of the Crimea Sergey Aksyonov met with the head of the organization Olga Dorokhina and her deputy Larisa Bobrikova. He instructed the relevant departments to respond more quickly to the appeals of servicemen and their relatives without bureaucratic delays.
