Feeding doll and the first step in science. How Young Minskers Choose Hobbies in the Palace of Children and Youth
The city holiday “Discover the World of Bright Opportunities” was held at the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth on September 12.

The city holiday “Discover the World of Bright Opportunities” took place at the site of the Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth on September 12, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

The event was timed to celebrate the City Day. For young citizens prepared a bright entertainment program, combining pleasant with useful. So, having participated in interactive games, master classes and quizzes, everyone could sign up for the association according to the interests of the palace.
- We show the variety of circles our institution offers for children. Teachers can talk about each in more detail and give recommendations, said Vladimir Bogdanov, Deputy Director of the Palace of Children and Youth.

At the festival, groups and ensembles of the palace performed, demonstrating to the audience what level of skill children can achieve while engaged in their favorite hobby. The best students of Minsk were awarded.

The campaign for registration in the association of interests ends on September 13. The guys still have time to decide on the direction they like. We are opening new circles, for example, on working with neural networks. For the first time we recruit pupils in the ensemble of folk dance "Zorna". We plan to open about 550 interest associations. More than 4.5 thousand children have already been registered in them, Bogdanov said.

A master class on the creation of doll-feeders from textiles was offered to the children by the teacher of the Creative Needlework Studio Galina Babik.
- This is an old amulet for mother and child. The woman made it out of her old clothes. The patches of fabric must have torn, did not use stabbing or cutting objects. Such a doll was passed down from generation to generation, the teacher said.

Recruit children in the studio 7-13 years. Classes are free. We can still sign up. The program also includes felt rolling, crocheting, creating dolls from corn leaves and much more.
There's an offer for young fashionists. The teacher Olga Kameneva heads the children's fashion office and invites pupils to learn how to sew, model and design clothes. It is noteworthy that for a year of classes from scratch, the guys create their own wardrobe element, or even not one!

- With younger children, we start with jewelry, toys, handbags. From the 6th grade we switch to tailoring clothes: skirt, blouse, trousers. And every year you can improve your skills, creating technically more complex models. Some girls bring photos of their favorite clothes – and we sew them, – said O. Kameneva.

Very popular among the young guests of the holiday was a playground with animals. And exotic! The guys could get acquainted with the Romuald turtle, funny hamsters and Madagascar cockroaches. The latter turned out to be very educated individuals. When they were seated on children’s palms, they immediately stopped running and seemed to freeze in the most favorable poses for a memorable photo. The palace opens a lot of environmental circles, where children will be able to learn how to care for smaller brothers. There are also options for young researchers.

- We invite you to join the “First Step in Science” association. The peculiarity of classes is that they are held on the basis of the NAS of Belarus, scientists work with pupils. There are many directions – forest ecology, birds of Belarus, experimental entomology, flora, etc., said Violetta Drozd, Head of the Environmental Education Sector of the Intellectual Creativity Department of the Palace.

Such circles are suitable for those who are 14-17 years old. Students will not only learn about the world around them, but also work on their own research projects.
