Lecture on the metaphysics of China will be organized at the China Book Center on September 9

The first lecture from the series “Chinese metaphysics” will be held at the China Book Center of the National Library of Belarus on September 9, the organizers told the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti news agency.

The event will open a series of meetings dedicated to the ancient philosophy of the East. The lecturer will be an expert of the Center for Chinese Metaphysics “Balance” Svetlana Bogunova.

The focus is on a systematic approach to phenomena that in the West are often perceived as esoteric practices. The lesson will examine the key concepts underlying the Chinese worldview: the Yin and Yang dyad, reflecting the principle of the balance of opposites, the system of five elements of Wu-Sing, describing the interaction of energy archetypes, as well as the concept of the cosmic trinity of San Cai, uniting the levels of Heaven, Earth and Man.

Particular attention will be paid to the fact that behind the usual terms such as “I Ching”, “Feng Shui” or “Ba Tzu”, there is not mysticism, but a centuries-old tradition of analyzing energy flows, which Chinese masters characterize as mathematically accurate knowledge. The lecturer will explain why, in the Chinese tradition, these methods are considered as tools for building harmonious relationships with the outside world.
