The best turner of Russia will be chosen at the Penza machine tool factory

In 2027, the Penza region for the third time will receive the right to hold the federal stage of the contest “Best in profession” in the nomination “Tokary”. The best specialist of the country will be determined at the production site of the machine tool plant. This decision was made by the organizing committee at a meeting in the situational center of the Russian government.

The number of nominations in 2027 will remain - there will be 25.

Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova noted that the All-Russian competition “Best in Profession” popularizes popular working specialties, encourages professional achievements and forms a positive image of a person of work through inspiring stories of participants. This year, a special nomination for veterans and participants of the Second Start was added - it has already become the most popular. According to Golikova, the competition has opportunities for further development.

According to the personnel forecast of the economy, the labor market will need about 12 million specialists until 2032. At the same time, unemployment remains at a record low of 2.2%.

The Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Russia Anton Kotyakov stressed that from year to year the Best in Profession continues to scale. This year, regional stages were held in 83 regions, and their total number has almost doubled compared to last year, to 420. More than 2.1 thousand companies sent their employees to participate in the competition, which is also double the results of last year. To date, almost 300 thousand people have participated in business, career guidance and other events of the competition. This figure is not yet final, but already one and a half times more than the results of 2025, the head of the federal department noted.

The Organizing Committee approved 20 main and 5 extrabudgetary nominations. Competitions among representatives of working specialties will be held in Chuvashia and Tatarstan, Tula, Tambov, Vologda, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd and Penza regions. It is planned that the best masters of turning will compete at the site of the anchor resident of the first machine tool cluster in Russia - one of the industrial brands of the Sur region.
